On May 25th, 2011 Lights Camera Imagine (LCI) hosted its first event with amazing success! 30 tickets were donated by LCI to 14 children from Toronto SickKids Hospital and their families to attend Disney’s The Lion King presented by Mirvish Productions with special surprises…

The event started with the fabulous volunteers gathering the children and families in a private lounge where everyone was able to relax and meet prior to the show. Mirvish Productions graciously donated gifts to each of the children including The Lion King programmes, watches, stickers, badges, posters, pens, key chains and so much more.

The volunteers and Mirvish ushers guided the children and families to their seats and on with the show… and what a show! The look of wonder, inspiration, and imagination on the children’s faces was just as magical as the show! With isle seats the children got to be in pure amazement inches from elephants, cheetahs, birds and all the animals of the Pride Lands!

“It’s our problem free philosophy….. Hakuna Matata! It’s means no worries for the rest of your days!”

After the show we had the fantastic opportunity for a private meet and greet with 12 of the cast members; Pumbaa, young Simba and Nala, Rafiki, Scar, Sarabi, Shenzi and many others! Ambient Photography was on hand to photograph the event for the memories to last a lifetime.

That really wasn’t even a question as there was so much love from the characters, the Mirvish staff, the volunteers, the families and especially the children! We at LCI can’t even begin to express our many thanks to everyone for making this event happen from our Facebook friends, Mirvish Productions, Ambient Photography, our volunteers and most importantly thank you to the children for attending and the many hugs, smiles and laughs!
